Business tax preparation for S corporations and partnerships

Keep entity filing and the owner’s personal return clear from the start. Unfret prepares 1120-S and 1065 returns, with published options for the entity alone or the entity plus its owner’s personal return.

What can change the price?

  • Each K-1 after the first adds $75. Each state after the first adds $150.
  • More than six K-1s or five states, and other complexity identified in the questionnaire, require a scoping call.
  • Standalone return preparation is a one-time engagement. Monthly bookkeeping is a separate service unless you choose the Books + All Taxes plan.
  • Pay half when you sign and the balance when you approve your draft. Scope is confirmed before work begins.

Example: an entity return with three owner K-1s

For an otherwise eligible entity-only engagement with one state and three K-1s, the total is $1,500 + 2 × $75 = $1,650. This does not include the owners’ individual returns. Different facts may require a call.

What to have ready

  • Your prior entity return and ownership information.
  • Year-end bookkeeping records and financial statements.
  • Payroll reports, if applicable, and information about state filings.
  • Records needed for each owner’s K-1; personal tax documents if you choose Entity + Owner.

This is a starting checklist. Your dashboard identifies documents for your agreed scope. Please do not email tax documents.

Before you get started

Does an entity return include my personal return?

The Entity Return plan covers the entity filing. Entity + Owner adds the owner’s personal return. A business-issued K-1 and an individual tax return are different deliverables.

What if my books are not ready?

Books need to be ready for the return to be drafted. We offer monthly bookkeeping and catch-up work separately; those charges are not included in the standalone entity-return price.

What business types does this page cover?

These published plans cover 1120-S and 1065 preparation. The questionnaire checks your entity and scope. Do not assume the same plan applies to every LLC or other entity structure.

When will I get a draft?

The published draft target is two business days from complete documents. Incomplete books, missing information, or a scope requiring a call must be resolved first. You approve the return before filing.
